Program Overviews
Developmental Kindergarten:
This program was developed by Butterhill as a transitional program between pre-school and kindergarten for children who need more time to mature. Children work on kindergarten skills but at a pace appropriate for their development. The curriculum includes learning stations with cooperative games for language, pre-reading, and pre-math skills. Gross and fine motor skills are refined. Circle time includes calendar, weather, pledge and discussion on the program for the day. Lauguagae Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies are incorporated in the program. The children study different countries on a monthly basis. The children are made ready to enter kindergarten and future school years with the confidence and maturety to better succeed. The program is a half-day program.

Experienced Staff
Miss LuAnn is teacher in the Developmental Kindergarten class. She has been with Butterhill for 12 years. She has her BA in Elementary and Special Education. The developmental kindergarten class is a unique class created by Mrs. Jones. Miss Luann has been the teacher of the class since its beginning eight years ago. Miss Luann prepares children for kindergarten by making them feel confident within themselves. She enhances the class by having the students learn about a different country on a monthly basis. She has a kind, up beat personality and sees every child as an individual with special talents.
