Kindergarten First Grade Program:

This classroom experience is one of the most important years in the educational process. The Butterhill Day School helps children learn, helping them make decisions, organize experiences and utilize knowledge. Our experienced staff appreciates your child's individuality and strives to help them reach their full potential by providing an environment that is warm and caring.

With a special emphasis on introducing and building upon the necessary readiness skills such as reading, writing, and mathematics, our teachers spend time daily to further develop the child’s social and emotional skills, while fostering independence and autonomy. In addition to developing these vital readiness skills, music, physical education and other classes are taught by specialty teachers.

Our engaging classroom environment promotes the growth of each child — mentally, emotionally, ethically and socially. Students are encouraged to develop a sense of integrity and respect for self and others by understanding how their actions impact their classmates, school, and community.

The Butterhill Day School program is committed to helping each child meet the academic and intellectual competencies expected at this grade level and become active, engaged learners in a classroom setting. Our dedicated and passionate teachers provide an inspirational atmosphere to promote well-rounded achievers. Our hands-on, interdisciplinary approach to education helps children develop intelligence, self-confidence, and a thoughtful assertiveness that enables them to succeed now and in the future.

We have included the use of a SMART BOARD to enhance our program.
